El objetivo del presente estudio es conocer si existe o no efectividad en la reducción de la ansiedad en el paciente infantil aplicando el sistema de anestesia local Injex®. Se estudió una muestra constituida por 15 niños y niñas de edades comprendidas entre los 4 y 14 años de edad. Para ello se presentó una escala de evaluación de la ansiedad en el niño antes, durante y después de realizado el tratamiento, así como un cuestionario a los padres, y profesionales acerca de los beneficios encontrados al sistema. Entre los resultados destaca que el 80% de los padres piensa que la supresión de la aguja durante los procedimientos dentales reduce el miedo al dentista. Se comprueba que, en algunas ocasiones, puede resultar una alternativa frente al miedo y la ansiedad que la anestesia inyectable causa en los niños.

The aim of the present study is know the efectivity or not about the reduction of anxiety in the pediatric patient aplying the Inyex™ anesthesia system. A sample of 15 children aged among 4 and 14 years were studied. A scale for anxiety evaluation was presented before, during and after dental treatment, and a questionnaire were presented to the parents and pediatric dentistry about the profits of the system. From the results of the study, it emphesizes that the 80% of the parents thought that the suppression of the needle during the dental treatment decreases the fear to the dentist. It was verified that, in certain ocassions, can result an alternative from the fear and anxiety that inyectable anesthesia produce in children.
